
The Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora release date trailer shows a first look at the story and combat
The Avatar: Pandora’s Limits The release date trailer gives you a first proper look at the footage in the engine and how the title will play – as well as key plot beats. The game’s release date is set for December 7, and it’s now been confirmed that the game is first-person-only and has a large scope.
Much like James Cameron’s popular movies, there are rideable mounts, but you also have the option of taking full Far Cry on your enemies and using your bow and arrow to defeat the invading mechanized forces of humans attacking Pandora.
Massive has created an immersive world that looks like a painting with amazing movie graphics. However, there is an original story here that co-exists with that of the blockbuster franchise, so it should be upped in quality from the many similar properties of the movies that became the game.
The real emphasis is on the Na’vi as the dominant force on Pandora, which is much larger than humans and correspondingly stronger. The story begins with you being raised by humans before entering cyro-sleep and waking up back on your home planet. Setup is a good way to get new fans while meeting the needs of your source material.
From the extended in-engine footage shown at Ubisoft’s event, Far Cry’s impact is truly undeniable in Frontiers of Pandora avatar. There will be crafting, hunting and new weapons that can be crafted and upgraded. Skill trees are also present to upgrade your character in the open world. As with Ubisoft’s launch series, two-player co-op has been confirmed, so you can play with a friend as well.
While E3 2023 won’t be taking place this year, that hasn’t stopped publishers and hardware makers from stepping in and hosting their own shows.
