One of the best Xbox Game Pass games disappears at the end of the month
Eight games will leave the Xbox subscription service on December 31, including one of the best games released in the last decade.
The first-person sci-fi adventure game Outer Wilds is one of the names that have been removed Xbox Game Pass. It won many awards when it debuted in 2019 and in 2022 it was released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for next-gen gamers to try.
Fortunately, you still have two weeks to get through the game quickly before Outer Wilds and seven others pulled from the site (opens in a new tab)giving way to two games Persona and Monster Hunter Rise coming in the new year.
External with the old
Outer Wilds is a time-loop story set in a galaxy full of mysteries. When you start the game, you only have 22 minutes to explore the solar system in your home spaceship before the sun goes supernova, destroying all the planets in the sky. However, instead of falling into space dust, time goes backwards and you can start exploring again.
To unravel the mysteries of Outer Wilds, you’ll need to make good use of your 22 minutes, but your reward is a unique sci-fi game. The dense open-world format and immersive soundtrack provide a great backdrop for your discoveries, so it’s no wonder that Outer Wilds won three BAFTAs in 2020 for Best Game, Best Intellectual Property and Best Game Design.
If space mysteries aren’t your thing, check out Secret Neighbor for seasonal multiplayer stealth deals. Set in the world of Hello Neighbor, this puzzle game pits you against grumpy neighbor Mr. Peterson as you work as a team to rescue one of your friends from a shady basement; the catch, however, is that one of you is actually the bad guy. Think Among Us, only scarier.
